Problems of violation against seniors are in the centre of interest in many advanced countries. Elderly people belong to the risk population groups. This is due to the fact that the population is aging in general.
Elderly people are endangered in many respects and they have disadvantages compared to younger citizens. The personal safety is an important area in the enhanced endangerment. The seniors are endangered by unintentional accidents and injuries (e.g. in transportation or during falls) as well as by forceful and other criminal activities.
The results of the research demonstrate the fact that elderly people are not the most frequent victims of criminal offences, but their proportion is being increased year by year. This information is based on results of a controlled dialogue and results of a secondary data analysis.
