In our contribution, we consider the use of different tools employed in the course of canistherapy. This is e.g. a human hand and thereafter, further tools serving the mediation of contact between the client and dog, tools enabling the client to issue commands for the dog or to throw something to the dog and further tools for training, sport or recreation. The tools significantly contribute to improving the communication between the clients, dogs, special pedagogues or, last but not least, canistherapists.
