The article is focused on the compilation of a method of monitoring indicators, with the help of which it would be possible to monitor and evaluate the activity and development of the Institute of Social Work (henceforth the ISW) and its parts - individual research regions and their centres.
The main target is the preparation of the method of establishing monitoring indicators, which could be used for monitoring and evaluating the activity and development of the ISW and its parts - individual research areas and their centres,
Based on the method established, it would be possible to monitor the ISW in the field of human sources, financing, results achieved, outputs and impacts of the activity, not only at a level of the institute but also at levels of research areas and their centres.
The method is based on a preceding data analysis, which resulted from the analysis of the documentation of selected projects solved within the framework of ISW research regions and their centres by the date of 1. 1. 2007. The method corresponds with a database system proposal, which will serve for recording data necessary for the ISW activity.
For the ISW of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies, University of South Bohemia, the "Method of ISW monitoring" was prepared, and particular indicators of the input, output, result and impact were defined based on the criteria specified. The larger number of monitoring indicators (inputs, outputs, results and impacts) is based on the ISW organizational structure and functioning and it assumes that at the lowest level, i.e. for individual activities or projects, it will not be possible to enter all the proposed monitoring indicators, but only those, which are relevant for the given activity/project. The aggregation of the indicators is based on levels of the organizational structure and it will be implemented at a level of centres, research regions and whole ISW based on the ISW organizational level.
