Alcohol affects organisms in different ways. It is impossible to determine a consumption baseline where adverse effects outweigh benefits. Although the results regarding moderate alcohol consumption during pregnancy are inconsistent, it is not recommended that women consume alcohol throughout pregnancy. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is one of the most common chronic lung diseases today and is a serious health, economic and social problem.
